A Place on the Blog: Documenting Every Milestone
This maternity session from 2024 is incredibly close to my heart; not just because of the season of life it represents, but the people in these photographs are my brother and sister-in-law. Photographing this chapter for them was one of the greatest honours of my career and one I wish cherish forever.
There is something profoundly special about documenting milestones for the people you love. It deepens the meaning of every frame. Every quiet touch, every shared glance, every moment of anticipation held so much more weight knowing just ow deeply this baby was already loved.
Maternity sessions are about so much more than growing a baby. They are about becoming - becoming parents, becoming a family, stepping into a brand new season filled with unknowns, excitement, and so much love. These moments are fleeting, and yet they shape the story forever.
This session is a reminder of why I believe so strongly that every milestone deserves to be documented. Not just weddings. Not just newborn days. But the in-between chapters too. The waiting, the dreaming, the moments before everything changes.
As a photographer, I get to freeze time in a way that allows families to return to these feelings again, and again. As a sister, this experience was deeply personal and profoundly meaningful. These images will one day be looked at by my nephew who was once carried so lovingly, and that alone makes them priceless.
This session will always hold a special place in my heart, and now, it finally has it's place here on the blog, exactly where it belongs.
